The dance performance “Kosmo” is an innovative neo-folk dance performance created based on baltics ethnocosmological beliefs. The idea of creating this dance performance arose after the choreographer Edmundas \u017di\u010dka realized that folk art can offer the viewer significantly more interesting topics than now. It is possible not only to cover more historical periods but also try to expand the space frame. So, this time the choreographer invites to raise your eyes to the sky: The Sun, the Moon and their relationship with the Earth are the central axis of the dance performance “Kosmo”.<\/p>\n

It’s great that we managed to bring together excellent and very different composers for this performance. Donatas Zakaras and Remigijus Ran\u010dys have a different relationship with folk music instrument, orchestra, dance. This different polarity was very suitable for the idea and very enriched the music.<\/p>\n

The basis of the plot of the dance performance “Kosmo” is the fable about the Sun, the Moon and the Earth: “Very a long time ago, the Sun and the Moon lived in the same house, loved each other, and had a daughter Earth. Once they got into a fight and the Sun decided that she alone would protect the Earth, but the Moon did not agree. Finally, Thunder decided that the Sun would visit the Earth during the day and the Moon will protect Earth at night. This is how the will of the Thunder is carried out to this day.”<\/p>\n
